Overview

The Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for developing and implementing multiple hiring strategies including an internship program, our foreign worker program, and assisting with key staff hiring for multiple sister companies.  Tracks progress of domestic processor hiring.  Creates, implements, and oversees internship program to encourage people to explore careers within our company.  Works with various communities and schools to educate them about our industry and build relationships to pipeline interns into our plants.  Ensures internships are meaningful and successful for all parties.  Collaborates on mass hire domestic recruiting strategies to ensure our plant personnel are successful in hiring high quality workers.  Develops, oversees, and manages all foreign worker programs (such as H-2B, J-1, etc.).  Creates and posts job openings.  Becomes our subject matter expert for our applicant tracking and onboarding system (“ATS”), ensuring all onboarding forms and templates are updated and accurate.  Focuses on programs that support high quality hires, retention, and succession planning.  Interviews, hires, onboards, and orients employees.  Handles all social media engagement for NPSI. A successful Talent Acquisition Manager models professional and ethical behavior and upholds company policies.  This position is exempt from overtime (not paid overtime) and reports to the VP, HR & Administration.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develops a best-in-class internship program with the goal of building bench strength across multiple disciplines and locations. Works with managers to identify internship positions and opportunities.  Builds relationships with communities and schools to fill internships.  Attends meetings, job fairs and internship events.  Tracks interns and monitors their progress. 
  • Tracks domestic hiring for seafood processors. Provides guidance to plant personnel to support their hiring needs.  Schedules and attends recruiting trips and job fairs.  Develops relationships with job service offices and communities.
  • Oversees foreign worker programs. Completes and maintains all necessary documents.  Works with staffing agency on logistics and with Social Security offices for enumeration as needed.  Attends international meetings and recruiting events.
  • Handles all social media posts and engagement for NPSI with the goal of attracting and retaining employees.
  • Assists with key staff recruitment as needed.
  • Interviews, hires, onboards and trains employees.
  • Trains plant staff on use of ATS. Develops training materials.  Assists plants with posting and closing jobs.  Ensures all onboarding forms and templates are updated and accurate.
  • Visits the plants to understand the working and living conditions, engage with interns and other employees, and to continuously improve our overall bench strength.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position works primarily in the Seattle office through November 2023, then from the Edmonds office December 2023 forward, with limited work from home opportunities (after being fully trained).

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • 5+ years of experience with high volume recruitment, preferably in the Alaska seafood industry.
  • 2+ years of experience with internship programs.
  • 2+ years of experience developing and implementing successful domestic recruitment strategies.
  • 1+ year of experience with foreign worker programs.
  • Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.
  • Demonstrated success with social media campaigns.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally for various hiring functions, and to our remote seafood processing plants to visit employees and better understand the work opportunities.
  • Ability to work well independently and with others.
  • High degree of integrity and ethics. Proven track record of upholding company policies, enforcing them fairly and consistently, and safeguarding confidential information.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in high stress work environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work in the corporate office (this is an in person position).
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Valid driver’s license required (to drive between plants and to recruiting events).
  • Seafood production experience preferred.

Payroll Information

Pay periods are biweekly.  Our workday is defined as the calendar day, and our work week runs from Monday through Sunday.  Employees are paid on the Friday following the end of the biweekly pay period.  We encourage employees to sign up for direct deposit but you may elect to receive paper checks instead.
