The Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for developing and implementing multiple hiring strategies including an internship program, our foreign worker program, and assisting with key staff hiring for multiple sister companies. Tracks progress of domestic processor hiring. Creates, implements, and oversees internship program to encourage people to explore careers within our company. Works with various communities and schools to educate them about our industry and build relationships to pipeline interns into our plants. Ensures internships are meaningful and successful for all parties. Collaborates on mass hire domestic recruiting strategies to ensure our plant personnel are successful in hiring high quality workers. Develops, oversees, and manages all foreign worker programs (such as H-2B, J-1, etc.). Creates and posts job openings. Becomes our subject matter expert for our applicant tracking and onboarding system (“ATS”), ensuring all onboarding forms and templates are updated and accurate. Focuses on programs that support high quality hires, retention, and succession planning. Interviews, hires, onboards, and orients employees. Handles all social media engagement for NPSI. A successful Talent Acquisition Manager models professional and ethical behavior and upholds company policies. This position is exempt from overtime (not paid overtime) and reports to the VP, HR & Administration.
The Inventory Accounting Specialist ensures all finished product inventory is properly identified and readily accessible by handling all receiving from the plants into Northscope, receiving by warehouses, reconciliations, monthly inventory reconciliation, year-end recaps, etc. Other duties as assigned. This position is non-exempt from overtime (paid overtime) and reports to the Controller.
NOTE: Due to limited bunkhouse availability, this position is for LOCALS ONLY who live in Sitka, Alaska.
Seafood processors perform a variety of manual labor tasks. Once the fishing fleet delivers seafood to our docks, our processing employees move the product through our production line until it is shipped in bulk to customers and cold storage facilities worldwide.
Adventure ahead! Salmon season is an incredible time to experience the beautiful landscape of remote, coastal Alaska, home to some of the world’s largest and most sustainable wild salmon fisheries. This is a chance to work hard, save on expenses, meet a variety of people from around the world, and produce healthy protein for worldwide consumption. The work lasts from approximately mid-June to late September. The season may be shorter or longer depending on the fishery. Employees may elect to continue working for Sitka Sound for the fall fisheries.
The Sales Coordinator is responsible for all facets of inventory, logistics, storage, shipment and tracking of perishable seafood sales. Enters inventory from our processing plants into the sales and inventory system. Tracks movement of product. Processes documentation for day to day sales activities. Invoices customers. Responsible for preparing domestic and international shipping documents and arranging freight movement. Prepares sales and shipping schedules. Reconciles inventory against third party warehouse inventory and resolves discrepancies. Cross-trains with other sales coordinators in the department to enhance coverage during peak periods and when co-workers are absent. Maintains internal reports. Other duties as assigned.
This position is non-exempt from overtime (it is paid for overtime) and reports to the VP, HR & Administration.
